Abortion Pill
Considering the Abortion Pill?
Are you considering a medical abortion in Kansas City? Before taking the abortion pill, you should first confirm your pregnancy with a pregnancy test at Parkville Women’s Clinic. We can then perform a limited OB ultrasound to confirm and advise you on your options based on how far along you are in your pregnancy.
What is a Medical Abortion?
A medical abortion is typically a medication used to bring about an abortion. The combination of chemicals in the abortion pills are more than 95% effective during the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. The alternative is surgical abortion. The chemicals used are not the same as those used in the Morning After Pill.
When is Medical Abortion Used?
Before considering an abortion, you must confirm that you’re pregnant and determine how long you’ve been pregnant. A medical abortion is an option up to ten weeks after the start of your last menstrual period. Make an appointment at Parkville Women’s Clinic to receive a pregnancy test. You may also qualify for a limited OB ultrasound to determine how far along you are in your pregnancy.
